Broken Systems

The Pressure of Rules

Society is pressured by so many rules. You must follow strict guidelines, or you risk being overlooked or even rejected. Success is measured by property, a respected job, or wealth. Otherwise, people barely notice you—or worse, treat you as if you don’t matter.

The Illusion of Selfish Survival

Many believe that failure comes from lacking what the system unfairly distributes. Because of this, people stop helping each other. Everyone is in survival mode: if their own needs are met, who cares about anyone else? That is where society is broken. We have forgotten love and compassion.

Some are born with health, wealth, and privileges. Many more are born with nothing—or raised in traumatic environments. Still, fear of losing stability prevents people from addressing these injustices.

The financial system itself divides people and prevents them from living fully. We work to earn money, then spend that money to recover from years of work. It’s a vicious cycle—suffering is what we truly earn, and that is not a gain at all.

Culture and Control

Some cultures dictate what is acceptable and what is not. They tell individuals how to live, denying the freedom to follow one’s own mind, heart, or spiritual practice. True freedom comes from being and listening, not following a rigid system that ultimately fails us all.

If judgment exists, the system is broken. For example, divorce is still stigmatized. But what about the opportunity for people to follow their hearts and be happy? Is society really trying to enforce sacrifice and pain on people?

The Isolation of the Vulnerable

People who experience violence or hardship often become isolated. Self-preservation takes priority over helping others, even when no real danger is present. Fear prevents compassion.

Undocumented individuals and immigrants are often treated as illegal or inhuman. People judge them without knowing their story. Even simple traits, like skin color, can make someone feel alienated or threatened. Why is that?

Humanity Forgotten

Society is composed of individuals who all deserve love, respect, compassion, and care. We are simultaneously strong and vulnerable. Success today does not guarantee success tomorrow. Life is unpredictable, yet we struggle to support each other. Why is that so difficult? We are all human.

Flaws in Assistance Programs

Government assistance is often unfair. Just living with someone doesn’t guarantee access to support, especially if divorced or unrelated. Without a social security number, people cannot receive help—even though many judge and assume undocumented individuals are receiving benefits unfairly.

Those who meet societal standards receive help, while others are abandoned. Homeless people, for example, are stigmatized as lazy or addicted, but their struggles often stem from health issues, trauma, loss, or simply trying to survive.

Even shelters and aid organizations are flawed. They impose strict rules and chores, leaving no space or time for people to heal or rebuild. Instead, they add pressure, worry, and fear.

A System That Prices Health

The healthcare system fails as well. If you cannot afford treatment, your health deteriorates—or your life is put at risk. Healing often depends on money rather than need, as if financial status determines who deserves care.

Material resources are necessary for recovery, yet it feels as though money matters more than human lives. What a cold and detached society this creates.

Broken Protection

Police and social services often fail to protect children or vulnerable people. Programs are inadequate, slow, or absent. Physical violence is not the only threat—other forms of abuse also go unaddressed. Predators are sometimes released without therapy or treatment. They return to society unchanged, while victims continue to suffer.

In some cases, those who are supposed to protect victims reveal their location to abusers, causing irreversible consequences. Laws sometimes protect criminals more than victims. How fair is that? Society desperately needs change in all areas.
