Air Hankie
A picture of a transient moment captured
i spat out the window
(the window wasn't up this time)
into the breeze
i was driving
so
both
my sixty kilometres per hour
and the crazy wind that day
caused it hang
in a gap
in time
and in that moment
in time
it was there
i saw something beautiful
it was truly
a sight to behold
for a split second
this ugly expulsion
from my lungs
from my throat
from my nose
hung in the air
resplendent
a ghost made
of the finest shimmering silk
a web made
of refracted light
an almost angelic apparition
a momentary glimpse
of a demure chaotic beauty;
something
so ugly
so grossly repugnant
so utterly repulsive
so socially unacceptable
comprising of wind
manipulated,
stretched
and buffeted,
mucous
spittle,
phlegm
and other oral fluids
i wiped my bottom lip
and smiled

Brenton, do you mean the window was down? Or did you actually write this after having deposited your spit on a window that was up? You know, it's repugnant; of course it is, and yet, you have crafted something quite lovely about a moment of expulsion which is magnetic in its examination of it. If it had been a butterfly, I am sure that it would not have surpassed the description you give here.

Grotesque and descriptive! A fun little short!
erm...yeah. This is a suitably Brenton-style piece. Love the very unique and grotesque visuals to the point of being able to visualise it...feel how it felt. All done wonderfully and nice share with Spit It Out by the 'knot! Congrats on a great Top Story!
