Book stalled

I am raising funds to publish a poetry book for and about survivors of sexual assault, including childhood sexual assault and intimate partner rape. This project is deeply personal to me, and I believe it can offer hope and healing to many who have experienced these traumas. The journey to publication is challenging, especially for a book that tackles such sensitive and important topics. As someone on a fixed income, the costs of reading fees, contest entry fees, and other expenses make it difficult to get this book into the hands of those who need it most.

My goal is to find a traditional publisher so that I can send free copies to nonprofits nationwide, amplifying the book's impact and supporting survivors across the country. I know how important it is to break the silence around sexual assault—one of the biggest crimes related to these experiences is the silence that surrounds them. By helping me cover these costs, you are not only supporting my journey as an author but also helping to create a resource for healing and conversation.

We live in a world pained with generational sexual oppression, and many of us have been abused from early childhood. This book will help open up important discussions and provide comfort to those who need it. Your support means so much—everyone knows someone who has been affected by sexual assault, whether directly or indirectly. Please consider giving and being part of this healing journey. Together, we can make a difference.

Sam, there are so many people who have been sexually abused. I was at 16. I could not talk about it in 1966. Today I shout it out loud.
