I love this, Harper. You've said SO much, with just three words. Even though I'm not from, nor in, the US, the alliteration, the word choice, the rhythm and the resonance (as in 'resounding sound', rather than - or perhaps as well as - 'it landed in my being and rippled throughout my body'...actually, definitely as well as...) filled me with all the the things that (I believe) it should - anger, fear, despair and hope. hope because I can see resistance. hope because people are living and dying by their values of care and compassion. hope because words like these...poetry like this...art like this...are signs of a stirring towards change. towards revolution.
