A yawn and a flutter
Of the eyes
They say sleep is like butter
Soft and smooth
But that seems be be a lie
Toss and turn
Anxiety burns
As thoughts all get jumbled
Into a pool
The story unfolds
In a dreadful mold
The realness of it can easily fool
Even the best of us
Restlessness
Like a mind over matter duel
The alarm buzzes loudly
Panic shoots through me astounding
Any peace I had left in my body
I slowly get up
Trying to ignore any abrupt
Interactions that could affect me profoundly
Moments go by
And with each little sigh
The present starts to surround me
Clarity sets in
Like a calm little wind
Erasing the dreams that bound me
