Farewell Francoise

By Anita Dotts

By Anita DottsPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

Camping in early spring

Is for the hardy or foolish?

The quest for the dolly

we came for that.

Our canvas tent and picnic meals

forgetting the rain kept wood sodden.

Arriving late afternoon, setting up in the dark

sitting on solid rock, tarp under tent, rain in torrents.

Curling up in the cold away from the cold spots

till cold became wet, soggy sleeping bag

Obvious reasons, ends any casting.

The lake is storm smacked, rain is sleeting

Heading for home and hearth to dry out!

For Fun
