February Landscape
There'll be Peace in the Morning

Spring has sprung all around
With tips of green poking from the ground
Splashing the February landscape
Patches of vibrant flowers in a colorful drape
Setting the scene for an artist’s brush
In the stillness of a morning's hush
Violets dot upon the earth
Shyly, they guard secrets to unearth
While irises proudly wave their rainbow flags
Picture perfect for gardening mags
Deer daintily passing through

To be soon followed by a skunky crew
A silence grips the scene
Part of a daily routine
A new day’s start
An image to inspire art
Against a backdrop of evergreens
In a field surrounded by a fence that leans
An early sun shining through the haze
A sight that brings forth praise
Bringing joy to the day
Peace on display

Beautiful poem, Sharon!
This feels bright and hopeful! I especially love the contrast of shy violets and proud irises—that little personality shift is charming. 💖

It always amazed me when those violet flows pop out in February.
