Helichrysum and a Cello

Edgar Meyer and Joshua Bell’s “In the Nick of Time” from Short Trip Home is the music in the video.

I bathe myself in cedar

and helichrysum, burn

palo santo and laurel,

cover myself with rocks,

hold a piece of lapis

in my mouth,

candles glowing

fountain flowing

beneath the cratered moon

to the sound of

a single cello.

Lovely multimedia experience. What instrument has a better voice than the cello?

  • Wonderful words, and great video. The music reminds me of The Penguin Cafe Orchestra

This is nothing short of gorgeous, Harper, and a special treat for me as someone who highly embraces their spiritual being. And the cello only adds to the already present rhythm found in your words. WOW!!!!🌹

Lovely to see you promoting the YouTube channel, through this piece. I will always love this aesthetic. 🔮 The Palo Santo reference remind me of my Palo Santo poem. I wrote it while burning the Palo Santo. That thing is magic lol. - I love the imagery here. 'In my mouth' I like how in touch you are with the lapis 🔮 Such a soothing and atmospheric poem. Your words really brought the video to life. They both work in perfect harmony 👏🏾🤗🖤❤️
