It Feels Good Today
It feels good today
air warm on my face
feet bare on the kitchen tile
Toast pops
tea brews
and something in me lifts
No reason
no story behind it
just the quiet kind of happy
that shows up
without asking
I hum a song I don’t know
spin once in the hallway
laugh at nothing
The windows are open
and the curtains breathe
even the house is glad I’m here
I wear old clothes
and still feel lovely
hair loose
heart light
It’s not a big day
but it’s mine
and I love it

Love this, so positive, and you should drop it in my July challenge
This poem radiates gentle joy — like sunshine through a window. It’s a beautiful reminder that happiness doesn’t always need a reason; sometimes it just arrives quietly and fills the room.
