Kill The Dream

a poem

By angela hepworthPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

to come alive after night

a dream in a dream

drifting through this ravine

i’ve made of my life

my heart throbs

resentful and tired

guilt rarely hits

and yet when it does

it crushes with the force

of a hundred men

foot on neck—killing, crushing

the life from this body and mind

judge and shame me

with a thousand eyes

until my own close again

to kill the dream

i live in

Wow, so full of emotion and I feel compassion for your heart for some reason here.

Thing about a ravine is eventually it flows out into lakes and oceans.
