Lake Tahoe

Years back, I had the privilege

of visiting this stunning place,

Lake Tahoe.

It was spring,

but I remember the chilly wind.

I couldn’t enjoy the cold,

despite so much beauty.

Few days afterward,

a disaster struck the lake.

A sudden storm brewed,

and a tourist boat capsized,

several people died.

As I read a tragic story,

one family was celebrating

a matriarch’s birthday,

when it turned fatal.

The lake is not ordinary,

deep and huge size,

nestled among the Sierra Mountains,

where weather changes here,

too quickly.

I have seen how sunny day

can turn to a flurry of snow,

within moments.

With money,

we may afford travel,

and accommodations,

avail fun options,

but being vigilant

and respecting the

local weather pattern,

is so very important.

Lives are precious,

and we all should be mindful,

of this critical rule.
