Landscape Architecture

A Poem

By Kale SinclairPublished 2 years ago 1 min read
Top Story - August 2024

Virginia creeper creeps up the

brick walls of my subconscious.

Suffocating my ability to think until

the vines of time leave me unconscious.

Poison ivy decided to slyly root itself

within the spicy soil of my privacy.

Spying on the highly divided bookshelf

silently poisoning the coalescence

of my internal library.

Quietly, I violently excavate the soil

with sharp, spayed shovels and axes.

Privately severing the invasive coils

before my persuasive psyche collapses.

I transplant thoughts to disrupt the noxious

composition of my earthly restraints.

To grow a mentally stable landscape

free of knots and obnoxious

expeditions into the abysmal

depths my brain constantly creates.

Nice! It's a powerful metaphor for the ongoing effort to cultivate a peaceful, stable inner world amidst the chaos that often tries to take root.

Poison ivy decided to slyly root itself /within the spicy soil of my privacy. That is such a great line. Spicy soil. I love it. A wonderful metaphor, Kale.

Nice, Kale. Interesting, too, from a cognitive perspective. And...anatomically.
