Living on Borrowed Time
I better make good use of it
By Seema PatelPublished 7 months ago • 1 min read

With two complicated pregnancies,
I teetered on the edge of death.
I survived, through my body's resilience
and the expertise of the medical team.
If I had succumbed, it would have been the end
of my sojourn on this Earth,
where I am, a guest, just passing by.
I was given more time,
so I can see my kids grow,
not let them wallow in sorrow.
For I can enjoy nature,
bask in its wonder, and explore.
I am grateful for the extended stay,
and I don’t take it for granted.
I’d better work to pay it back
by leaving an impact through my work.
