Marigold Gift

My neighbor kindly gave me marigolds!

Marigolds @Seema

A dull evening,

tired of parenting,

with gloomy mood,

sitting on the porch,

waved at a neighbor.

Then magic happened,

he works at a nursery,

had got marigolds for free,

Shared with me,

not one or two,

but sixteen pots!

Yellow, orange, red,

I was delighted.

It’s no ordinary flower,

But childhood winter,

stirs nostalgia,

mother used them,

in Hindu puja rituals,

we smelled them,

enjoying aromatherapy,

playing with them,

made us happy.

I spent hours,

planting them,

the garden lit up

with lovely colors,

by the kindness.

my insipid evening

turned vibrant too.
