Mid Flip
Between hair and there
Mid flip, no cares, not of this world
Hairs stand tall
Stretching in all different directions
Antennae
Sensing a surround sound of sensations
Frizzy-headed frequency
Flyaway giveaway
Let my intentions be known
Flip the script
Stranded, I am not
Wavy dreams feel a little closer
Grown out roots
Signal fresh retouches
Color splash and highlights
Remind me, this is not a hairy situation
Teased and untame
Wild woman let it whip

Belle of the Bayou
Bad move, cher. Not just the slip of her kitten heel on the rainy February cobblestones in the Fourth Ward. She got caught snooping. Detective Deleon clucked and strutted like a rooster in his rush to clear her from the scene, waving cigar smoke to and fro as he gesticulated amid the thick air of the speak easy. An experienced crime reporter, Marie knew better than to let the coppers catch her on the wrong side of the line, but curiosity had gotten the better of her.

Like Bill Lightning below me. Never had a fine head of long hair to flip. Sadly. Though my hair in my youth was untamed, curly and a mess of thickness. Loved this poem. Loved the freeness and abandon of it! Well done, Marilyn!
