Well, what are you staring at?
Within every moment
Within every life
There exists a smile
A snapshot
A portrait of happiness
Of the human condition
Of love
Of light
Of friends
And family
And maybe
“just maybe, tonight’s the night”
I wonder if Frank knew then
Once the years have passed
the places where
his visage might hang
A picture placed purposely
For my enjoyment, my reverie
eliciting a state of perfect ease
While my bladder completely empties

Throne of the Beast
“Lock and load.” Knight One’s command echoed through his helmet, drowning out the helo’s thumping engines. Knight Two sat across from him, his mechanical gloves thumbing the safety on his oversized auto shotgun clad in etched black metal. Knight Four scoffed silently, his face obscured by the jet-black helmet. An uncivilized weapon for an uncivilized man. There are already enough of those in this godless world. Two always seemed unsettling, like a big frothing dog in a constant internal struggle of, “Should I bite or hump my master?” It was no wonder Callsign General loved Two, even if Callsign Archbishop barely tolerated him. One was the Archbishop's girl.

Feel like this might be for a challenge.. although I’m not up with the latest these days. Liking the nostalgic tone and content here Matt. I had a strange expression on my face at the last line - thinking this was some kind of kink! 😅😂 So thanks kindly for explaining that after! Fun!
and BAM...then there was the ending...loved it So many thoughts are rolling around in my head of what others might be thinking when they see the photo.
Ha! That ended perfectly! You take us through a joyful moment filled with nostalgia and end up where the inspiration was triggered. The John. Lol. Hope the food was good that night!
