Little by Little

Time slips by like a puddle on the floor

I slip

Then dip

A subtle trip

And years go by in that one movement

What I meant

And what I mean now

Bow to each other

And go their separate ways

And I try to soak up the good in the days

Mixing pleasure with unavoidable pain

Trying to balance

Like a move on a vault

And regrets and faults

Have to fade to the background

Or I won't be able

To put new motivations on the table
