The midnight hush enfolds
me in my lover’s arms
tempers our moods
until body heat
turns daylight steel girders to
smokey platinum and
shimmering gold
A liquid fire slithers
into a sultry slur of
sensory syncopation
gliding, spiraling until
finally resting beside
my beloved
intertwined, nested
upon our marriage bed
