Waterhouse, John William. (1900). A Mermaid.
Come to me underwater.
In liquid light, I shine like a princess
and grant promises with great bounty.
~
Follow my trail of lip-pressed bubbles
that edge to the surface and burst,
telling watery tales of longing.
~
I will wait for you,
and in waiting, recede into the murky depths
and chilling darkness.
About the Creator
Bride of Sound
I explore themes of altered perception, distortion of the body, and dysfunctional romance. Sometimes chaotic, always controlled.
