REALITY

One after one, they keep selling out,

Money's the worry, there's no room for doubt.

There's no reality here, just a show,

The ones who wrote truth are gone now, you know.

The pen only moves when the money flows,

Talk of beauty? That's just another debt.

Lips in check, eyes on the hair,

Every girl's a fashion mare.

Yours is yours, and mine is mine,

Hearts turn black in the dark every time.

The value of hard work? The world doesn't see,

Only he knows who's worn rags, not fine.

We've lost the art, it's plain to see,

No value left for Mom and Dad, not for me.

Ask the one who's forgotten his roots,

Whose mother and father are history.

Without wisdom, you can't fake the real,

Looks don't matter, it's how you feel.

The ones with no shoes on their feet,

Are happier than the wealthy ones, that's the deal.

Why call it "love" with a girl, they claim,

Behind your back, your friends laugh at your name.

The one whose girl gives him peace,

Auto-tuned gossip is his only fame.

I bow to the mother who gave me birth,

The one who created me, the most prized on earth.

They say God's worship is the ultimate way,

But they'd sell their urine for display.

I'm not saying I'm wise, not yet,

Just a 21-year-old with some regret.

Before he left, my father taught me this line,

"Eat only what your hard work has let."

Aujla, just Aujla, that's the truth, my pride,

Life's set, money's not where my thoughts reside.

Every single word that escapes my chest,

Just wants to match the fate I've been supplied.

My tongue is rap, it's what I do,

The crowd claps when I come through.

A friend won't insult a friend,

It's not a compliment, it's a slap, it's true.

Where's the thread of faith we tied?

Where's the Lord in whom we confide?

In which melody is God pleased?

You'll never find Him, nowhere to hide.

Heer's Ranjhas, brothers to strangers,

No one respects the heroes, just the dangers.

Rich men's dogs don't sleep hungry,

But the weight of warriors rests on Wazir's shoulders, like avengers.

No one fears the eyes that stare,

The enemy now makes the arrows they wear.

In the end, everyone goes to the same grave,

Whether a butcher or a saint who's rare.

From my Mom and Dad, I came this far,

I arrived alone, beneath the same star.

Wherever I went, I earned a lot, lost a lot,

Searching for my mother's shadow, the spot I forgot.

Mother was love, Maya was greed,

I taught you this, planted the seed.

Give your parents some time, don't you see?

I wanted to meet them, but time didn't let me be.

Wanted to meet them, but time didn't let me be.

Wanted to meet them, but time didn't let me be.
