The First Dandelion of Spring
A Poem by Lena
🖤
Slow and steady,
I walk on a pale path —
a pallid pasture.
*
I walk wearily,
my every step
echoing my groaning.
*
Sharp and brittle the bristles
that stick and sting
my soft and sallow skin.
*
They crunch as I cry —
mere remnants
of summers past.
*
Then, there!
in the distance.
a glimpse of gold!
*
The bright green of spring,
calls out with hope –-
no more is the cold of snow!
