The Five Senses of Missing You

How love lingers in every sense of memory

By Moonchild WritesPublished about 8 hours ago 1 min read

I am looking for the calm to my storm,

I am looking for someone I call home

Distance, destiny and desire

I love you like a moth loves the fire

I am looking for my missing peace

I miss you, come back please

I hear your voice echo in the crowd,

I hear my heart beating loud

Music, memories and me

I love you like a leaf loves the tree

I hear you even in the quiet breeze

I miss you, come back please

I feel the soft air touch me like a feather

It feels just like we are still together

Passion, promises and pride

I love you like the moon loves a tide

I feel you when sun smiles at seas

I miss you, come back please

I smell the dry roses hidden for years

I smell the letters and read them with tears

Secrets, silence and sorrow

I love you like a rabbit loves its burrow

I smell you when rain falls on trees

I miss you, come back please

I taste the tears you left in my eyes

They taste like your cold lies

Time, truth and trust

I still love you like a desert loves the dust

I miss the taste of shared chocolate and cheese

I miss you, come back please

heartbreak

About the Creator

Moonchild Writes

"I am a Moonchild – born under silence, raised by chaos.

I speak in pauses, feel in storms, and write in phases.

My words are not loud, but they echo.

Not here to be read—here to be felt."
