WARNING: Red Pens in Use
A Blank Verse Poem
They will not set aside the power it gives
Seek out their help, but move with careful steps
Your openness carries a strength as well
Endure the vicious nature found in ink
You may receive rough lines of anger. Haste.
Perhaps with pure intent to offer help
Do not let pens scratch deeper than the page
Take what will help, and set the rest aside
Excuse me, can I go to the bathroom?
While strikes of red provide a harsh support
We are striving to alter the system
But for today, please approach with caution
The red ink may bleed, but do not be afraid

Winterthorne stood alone at the edge of the park. The beautiful snow that had surrounded him was all trampled now, from the feet of all of the children who had built him. He missed the sparkly clean snow blanket, but he was happy that so many children had come out to make him.

And that's why I mark everything in green.
Amazing. The colour of pens shouldn't be an issue, but we're taught red symbolises bad, wrong, stop, danger, etc and it is so dangerous to be painting any mind to associate those words with their work. Definitely affected me in school.
