It was eighteen months after the Coronavirus impacted the world. At the Johnson’s home, Renee and her husband Cameron are preparing dinner for their kids. As they are preparing dinner Renee turns on the television to watch the news, the oldest daughter Mia says this depressing stuff again? How long are we going to have to stay in the house? Then Renee says they have a new vaccine coming out to cure it and it will allow us to go back to normal. So hopefully this will all be over soon. Yeah hopefully, Cameron stated, I miss the amusement parks and traveling, Mia you are old enough to ride roller coasters now and I know that you have been looking forward to that! Mia answered, yes and I want prom to be perfect. They focus on the television where they are talking about the vaccine, the first dosages will be out in two weeks. Everyone begins to celebrate! Renee looks puzzled, that’s not long enough to have a vaccine approved, she thought. While the children are celebrating she pulls Cameron into the other room. Babe, she starts, I’m really concerned about the side effects of the vaccine, it sounds rushed. People have different blood types and ailments that have to be compatible with the vaccine, that’s really fast honey. I don’t know you’re the one who is about to be the doctor, he stated, do you feel comfortable with us getting the shots. What could be the side effects, could they be worse than the virus? Because it is killing people. The kids get quiet when the President is speaking about the vaccine. He announces the date for the release of the vaccine, how many there are and who will get it first. Two of the vaccines have been approved by the FDA and one is still awaiting approval. The President then states that it is perfectly safe, just like the flu shot, and everyone should feel safe to take it. No need to panic everyone will get one. Renee then breaks the silence, alright everyone, I have to go to work, everyone sits down for dinner, I love you guys. She then kisses everyone goodbye and leaves.

Dystopian Future
Carrey found the candy-wrapper at the bottom of the can. It had already been licked, why did someone bother putting it back in the trash? made no sense. Maybe someone was watching to make fun. She peered around, which was insane she knew. Making believe felt better than absolute solitude. It was silent just another abandoned ghost city. She’d knew when someone was there; she always knew that’s how she’d made it this far. But that was a long time ago, when? No point counting time when you’re the last person on earth…maybe. She slung the pack across her back and kissed the locket, it was time to go East. Always East away from the heat try to find water try to stay alive. Three miles up the road she saw a bird. It’d be nice to have a gun but a bird meant there had to be water nearby. She hoped she wasn’t kidding herself that it wasn’t a stupid dirty puddle. It was the first anything she’d seen in weeks. It was better that way. People always wanted something. Animals, uh they’d probably all been eaten. She laughed. Thinking about her old self. That other girl who actually had pets and been to the zoo countless times. Don’t. Just don’t that’s how we get lost in the scape of yesterday. Months of that and all the dead, no reason to go there.

Wishing for a Mirage
I woke in my sand hollow to first light, feeling groggy, thirsty, disoriented and sore. And very frightened. I sat up stiffly and looked around, all 360 degrees, and apart from the scattered debris of my Ultralight, I saw nothing but sand, dirt and rocks all the way to the flat horizon. Standing, with difficulty, the view was the same, but at least it seemed like my legs weren’t broken, even if I had no idea in which direction they should carry me. My last look at the navigation instruments put me slap in the middle of exactly nowhere, though I was travelling from somewhere to somewhere else.

The smog was unusually dense for 4 A.M. as the factories were at minimal output during the night shift. I sucked in a deep breath anyway. The quietness was a relief to my pounding headache but this would be short-lived. Headquartered in Germany 3D print service provider Rapid Product Manufacturing (RPM) announced on June 15, 2021, announced its research funding, developing complex elastic lattice structures, funded by German AIF. Using Carbon Resin Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) 3D printing technology and EPU41 / EPU40 materials, RPM plans to develop a variety of applications for these lattice structures for their partners in the industry next year.
