Health issues faced by women in modern day society have been neglected by medical professionals for a long time. We are often told not to pay too much attention to what we read on social media but this has been found to be a very useful way of raising awareness of such issues which may be considered niche in society. The use of certain platforms such as Facebook or X have been proven to form part of a very powerful armoury which enables people to build their knowledge and raise awareness about certain medical issues which may not be covered appropriately in society or through mainstream media outlets.

Report Looks At State Of Equality In UK Employment Industry
A new report which has been jointly published by the Society of Black Academics which is a Higher Education Policy Institute and GatenbySanderson has illustrated some alarming statistics about the state of different work places in the UK. The main finding of the study was that only 34% of back academics say their work place is inclusive. This is quite an alarming finding at a time when racial tensions around the country will be on alert due to the number of different riots there have been around the country caused by tensions between different ethnic groups.

Disability Charities Call For Change In Housing Law And Policy
Following the publication of the Grenfell Inquiry, the vast majority of disability charities based in the UK are calling for a sea change to the way housing law and policy are put in place by the government. The report looked in to and examined the different circumstances which surrounded and led up to the ferocious fire at Grenfell Tower on the night of 14th June 2017. Following the publication of the inquiry a panel of experts produced a report which put in writing details of how the fire started, how it spread and what safeguards need to be put in place to avoid a similar incident happening in the future.

First Ever Deaf Ms South Africa Chosen
South Africa has chosen its first ever deaf winner of the Miss South Africa beauty pageant. The competition which is now in it’s 66th edition, has chosen Mia Le Roux as it’s next winner in a decision which will help to break down the barriers that prevent people with disabilities taking part in mainstream activities. The announcement came following a tense event which saw one other participant withdraw after she was trolled online due to her Nigerian heritage.

Riots Break Out Across The UK
Thousands of police officers are on stand by in case there is any more rioting across the UK. The disputes which occurred between different groups of protestors who were mainly from right wing groups occurred in areas such as Southport, Liverpool, Hartlepool, London and many others including areas of Northern Ireland. There have been reports that at least thirty protests have been arranged today so nearly six thousand officers have been mobilised to cope with any disturbances that may occur.

Demonstration Arranged Round The UK Following Southport Murders
There have been several protests occurring across the UK following the murder of three young girls at a children’s dance workshop in Southport. Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, died after the attack at a Taylor Swift-themed event on Hart Street, on Monday. An emotional vigil was held the day after the attack; however, this was followed by violent scenes near by when 39 police officers were injured, eight seriously in clashes with rioters. Some of the crowd threw missiles targeted at the police and a local mosque in an effort to get revenge for the attack.

After only being in the job for a few weeks, new British Chancellor Rachel Reeves has set out the new Labour governments spending plans for their term in office. She clashed with her predecessor Jeremy Hunt over the record of the last Conservative government claiming that there was now a black whole in the country’s finances and this would have a drastic effect on any measures that they planned to put in place.

Events Lined Up To Mark South Asian Heritage Month
It is now five years since the launch of South Asian Heritage Month. This is an annual cultural month which is set aside to commemorate and educate people on all things South Asian. When we talk about things being South Asian, it normally incorporates Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. People who have a cultural heritage from any of these countries usually would have had an ancestor who would have been born there and brought to the UK as part of the Slave Trade. This was where over three million South Asian people were brought as slaves to the UK and forced to do mundane tasks to serve those in power.

Disabled Campaigners Aim To Take Message To New Labour Government
Under the last Conservative government, UK residents have all been feeling the pinch a little as there have been many factors which have affected the amount of money we have in our pockets and the cost of the everyday items which we need in our lives. Disabled people have been unjustifiably blamed for the amount the government has been spending as the rate they receive as a benefit has not kept up with inflation meaning they have a lot less than they would have done to spend on the things they need such as different forms of support as well as other things they need. Now that a new Labour government has been elected, people who are in extra need of support will be hoping for a change in legislation that will help to make their everyday lives a bit easier.
