Things I Wish Vocal Had
1. A dedicated History community. I would call it Archive, in keeping with Vocal’s naming conventions for their communities. This community would be great for several reasons. One, most history articles are currently shunted off into a subcategory of whatever community approximates to their primary subject( The Swamp for political history, Humans for history that doesn’t quite fit in another community, Beat for music history, etcetera).

Phantom Shift- Sublimation
This is Part Four in a series. You can click here for all chapters. Alex, or rather Raul as he had decided to go by the last cover name he used, had sat quietly in Jason’s van for four hours. He had been watching Haberdashers, waiting for Tupac to retrieve the documents. While most people would think of being on a stakeout as torture, Raul quite enjoyed it. It was a simple task. Sit in one spot for as long as possible, observing your target. Most would think there was little to do in the meantime, but he had learned over the years that it’s best to bring some kind of entertainment.

Parasocial or Parasitic
What defines a parasocial relationship? “Wikipedia notes parasocial interaction (PSI) refers to a kind of psychological relationship experienced by an audience in their mediated encounters with performers in the mass media, particularly on television and on online platforms. Viewers or listeners come to consider media personalities as friends, despite having no or limited interactions with them. PSI is described as an illusionary experience, such that media audiences interact with personas (e.g., talk show hosts, celebrities, fictional characters, social media influencers) as if they are engaged in a reciprocal relationship with them. The term was coined by Donald Horton and Richard Wohl in 1956.”(1)

Introducing Emergence
What is Emergence? Emergence is a new Facebook group dedicated to fans of science fiction, fantasy, comics, video games, tabletop games, and all things that makeup nerdom. The dictionary defines emergence as “the process of coming into view or becoming exposed after being concealed. The process of coming into being, or of becoming important or prominent.” And that is the purpose of this group.

Phantom Shift-The Redux
This is Part Two in a series. You can read Part One Here. Please be sure to follow to Part Three at the End. 5:43 am, Anacostia, Washington. Jason Costas, a counterintelligence agent with the Defense Intelligence Agency waits for his bus. He had arrived in his position by a rather circuitous route after the Air Force. Despite the accident of his agency recruiter’s ignorance, confusing his last name with the common Spanish last name Costa, he was glad the man had stuck him in the Latin America division. It wasn’t much fun to keep working on signals intelligence at first, but things took off after his transfer to the human intelligence side of the house. The irony that his first deployment was as a civilian was never lost on him. But that was all in the past now. Long gone were his days of recruiting and running sources from Santiago to Caracas. No more getting chased through the narrow streets of favelas. What he would give for one more sunset on the beaches of Los Cobanos. But he’s a company man now. It was time to work his way up the ladder. One more year, and he could apply to the Office of General Counsel.

This Old Man Finally Saw His First Real Concert
Well, as the title suggests, this old man finally saw his first real concert after 35 years. Why do I say first real concert? I say this because, on November 21st, I finally got to go to a concert for a band that I love. That band is Alien Weaponry.
