Hated at first sight
The first time I recall being hated at first sight was when I was 7 years old. It was the second day of school in the second grade. My mother worked for a company called Harris Hardwood and had gotten them to send a bunch of wood chips to my classroom for us to play with. The blocks were on the floor and the teacher told us to sit down in groups of 3 or four to play. I sat next to a boy and girl I did not know and immediately they both put their hands on the blocks and told me no. I advised them that my mother is the one who sent the wood to the school and they reluctantly allowed me to play with them.

Philippe Wynne's tragic life and death
So often we enjoy the music of individuals and groups but have no idea of the pain they may have endured. Television shows such as CENSORED, BEHIND THE MUSIC,and UNSUNG have told some pretty horrific stories about those who entertain us. You can also find out about the lives of popular musicians and singers by searching the Internet. I was recently listening to Knee Deep by Parliament/Funkadelic where Philippe Wynne had a lead part. I recalled that he had died young from a heart attack and decided to research his story. I had no idea of the harsh life he lived and the tragedies that befell his family.

Racism and bullying persists in Facebook Soap opera groups
Daytime drama shows have been entertaining fans for many decades. Now, thanks to the Internet soap lovers can discuss their favorite shows and character in groups on Facebook. Unfortunately, there is a downside that neither I nor others anticipated. I will be 63 years old on my birthday and recall schools being integrated in the 1960s. Almost everyone my age and younger has grown up in an integrated society.
