Review of 'My Imaginary Mary'
I cannot begin to tell you how excellent My Imaginary Mary was. As a massive fan of not only these authors but also the brilliant Mary Shelley herself, I find this novel impeccably written, charming, and fun. This novel will simply make you smile as you read it.

Review of ‘Seasons of Chaos’
Delving deeper into Greek mythology, Seasons of Chaos brings the story of Jack and Fleur to an explosive ending. When I first read Seasons of the Storm, I thought it was a brilliant retelling of Jack Frost, delving into Greek mythology and the tale of Gaia and Chronos. That book had a solid ending, so I was a little surprised to discover a sequel. I loved Seasons of the Storm so much that I needed to read this book. However, reading it, while enjoyable, did feel very superfluous.

Review of 'And Break the Pretty Kings'
And Break the Pretty Kings was, unfortunately, a challenging read. I wanted to like the book but struggled to keep the story straight as I read along. And, if you’re wondering if it was the time travel element that was confusing, you would be wrong. In fact, that was both the most interesting and the easiest part of the story to understand.

Compelling and Interesting | Everyone's Thinking It Review
Everyone’s Thinking It offers readers a mystery, following two estranged cousins at a predominantly white school, highlighting not only what it means to be colored but also a foreigner in a school of privilege so far away from home. Tackling cultural appropriation and racism, Aleema Omotoni did a fantastic job tackling these issues while offering up a compelling mystery for young readers.

Unexpected and Delightful | Thornhedge Review
I absolutely loved Thornhedge, again bewildered and amazed by Kingfisher and her work. Storytelling This was not the story I was expecting. However, with Kingfisher, I have learned to expect the unexpected. This is a retelling, of sorts, of Sleeping Beauty. Toadling was stolen from her human family as a child and raised by the fairies, safe and loved.

And with that, the new year is upon us! I don’t know about you folks, but I surpassed my goal of 100 books and read over 120! I’m very proud of myself for making the time to read because reading is my passion. It’s like breathing for me. I love to read and write, and this year, I could do so much of both.
