Bio
Fairytales and poems are some the first pieces of literature and have been reimagined countless times. Here they will be retold again, but our versions all have a queer identity at their heart and, of course, end with 'Happily Ever After'

Stories Before a Wedding, or The Frog Prince & The Princess's Challenge
A Marriage Challenge was announced: any person from this or any of the surrounding countries – single or widowed – between the ages of twenty and forty years who could sign their name freely and without aid and could read aloud a passage from the children’s school Book of Law would be allowed to take part in the challenges that would take place in three fortnight’s time. The Princess Risa would meet her challengers and test them in three sets of contests of her own creation and would marry the one who met her challenges to her best satisfaction.

Puss's Boots - Chapter 7
“They are imposters, your Majesty! The ancient Lord Gloria lives, alone and heirless!” Came a booming voice from the back of the grand Hall. A tall, dark man came forward and swept into a deep bow before the King. He stood to the right of Orlando and motioned for his companions to fall into positions on either side of Dione and Caoimhe.

Notes On Reading My Stories...
I wanted to share some notes on my stories, the universes that they inhibit, and the ways that they relate to each other. Please read this note first; I promise I will keep it brief. In general, there are three universes that I'm posting here: space, the detective, and fairytales. I'll make a master author's note the detective and space universes themselves soon, but here are the important parts:

Author's Notes: Puss's Boots
Puss's Boots. This story is over ten years old, over 475 years old, and over thirty years old. As a child, I fell in love with a picture book of Puss-in-Boots; I loved the simple, colourful, elegant faux-Medieval art designs even more than the story. Years later, I studied history thrive fashion, and this one book still lives with me. I wrote this story three times; it was my first original fairytale, and my first original queer story.

Stories Before a Wedding: The Dance of the Sleeping Beauties
Aurora was cursed. The word flowed from her hand like a graceful river in a painting which, naturally, she also knew how to create. Cursed. She was cursed with Beauty, cursed with Grace, cursed with Talent, cursed with Sweetness, and – most importantly according to her parents – cursed to die. Or, rather, not die. Sleep, and then be awakened by True Love’s Kiss, so she was also cursed to loneliness it would seem until her curse took hold. And then, she would be awakened and the real curse would begin.

Author's Notes: Little Snow-White
"Snow-White, Rose-Red, will you beat your lover dead?" "But Little Snow-White is still a thousand times fairer than you." Two women white as either snow or roses, two sisters that loved and stood together rather than attack each other, and a princess whose "dead body" was nearly sold and then given to a strange prince. These stories begged to be put together in a way that offered the romantic love of a fairytale as well as the familial love that is so often missing from them.

Author's Notes: Sleeping Beauty
Take one Meddling Fairy (colour: Lilac); one cursed Princess who knows she is cursed, thank you very much; two loving but, ultimately, clueless parents just trying to do their best; two siblings willing to brave a curse for (what they sincerely hope will be) freedom; and two nobles looking for love: what do you get - Sleeping Beauty.

Author's Notes: The Fairytale of Cinderella
Take an ancient story, add a queer foundation, characters that really want to make their marriage work, Rogers and Hammerstein, Into the Woods (just for flavour), a bit of soulmate magic, and, perhaps, you will find a true Happy Ever After.

Author's Notes: The Fairytale of Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast is an old fairytale whose protostory can be dated back to Ancient Greece, and it has always been my favourite fairytale. I grew up with the Disney version, and the beauty of it - the rich colours, the fantastical yet very real and grounded designs, the cleverness of Belle and a Beast who grows to match her... all these things have always resonated with me. As I grew and learned different variations, I realised how changeable and adaptable fairytales are, especially in queer terms. The Beast is a creature transformed, a creature trying to find 'his' humanity again; the Beauty is Other, different, odd. Apart. They are a queer couple even when they are not. This new version mixes several traditional versions with a female Beast, a wise and clever heroine, and a few Disney references because, well, why not?

Puss's Boots - Chapter 6
Gwynnë was everything that the siblings thought it would be and more. The buildings themselves shined, and it seemed as though they were reaching up to scrap the clouds. The streets were filled with all new sights and sounds and smells. Merchants lined the gutters, crying out their wares and keeping a cautious eye out for thieves. Their carts were full of polished ornaments and sweet smelling, spicy treats. Perfumes and fabrics overflowed the tables and booths; jewellery, weapons, and various other trinkets caught the light and shone.

Stories Before a Wedding, or The Little Snow-White
A Royal Wedding the proclamation decreed. The Cursed Prince – now King – Artair had returned at last, and he was to be married. All across the land people rejoiced the upcoming union and rushed to the shops to buy ribbons to decorate their homes or clothing in celebration. As the Prince and his new Consort were to tour the Kingdom on their way to the capital, people lined the streets to meet him and those who travelled with him. At each town and village, the Prince – although he was no doubt tired and wished to see his aging Uncle, his noble and kind regent, as soon as possible – recounted the tale of his being cursed, the woman who had helped to free him, and his future Consort, the one known as Little Snow-White.
