Prologue - Memoirs Of The In-Between
Prologue My world began in the middle of the Asuka period, Japan. The time in history when patriarchs and the Emperor of Japan headed powerful clans ruled uncontested. The time when dragons still existed on our plane, and there were special people who conversed and bargained with the creatures. My specific time was in the year 616. I had already been born, and I was now nine summers long. My clan, the Kobayashi’s, was a renowned, respected family, and it was also for hire only by the Emperor – or rather Empress Suiko. We were fiercely devoted to her, and had been long before my birth. So long in fact, that our family lived in the Palace grounds. Far enough away to be at peace, yet close enough to answer any summons we may receive.

There are many reasons why one may need a side hustle or small business of their own. I don't care what the reason is, I just know that I have been on the fringe of a mental breakdown, needing a side hustle or a business of my own that suited my needs and schedule. I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do, and I had countless ideas but few viable options. Everyone's circumstances are different - whether it be time constraints, transportation issues, needing to supplement family income, childcare restrictions, or whatever - having your own business means being your own boss and being able to work according to your own schedule.

Hey Kiddo, Can You Help Me Water My Patience Tree?
Why Can't We Just Be Born With Patience? My 6-year-old has the patience of an energetic old lady who acts much younger than she is and has NO time to spare. Her impatience spews out in huffs and teenage-level attitude. My 4-year-old has the patience of a 4-year-old, and her impatience comes out as hurt feelings and bursts of tears. I don't even want to talk about the toddler, whose frustration and impatiences comes out as flopping backward on the ground in Shakespearean drama, usually resulting in a solid THUD from his head connecting to the hardwood floor. I had to buy a protective pillow for him, for fear of his brain cells.

The Fight To Break The Generational Abuse Cycle From The Inside Perspective. Content Warning.
The Way I Was Raised Was Very Different From How I Am Attempting To Do This Parenting Thing. That is not at all to say that I had a terrible childhood. My mother is a generational abuse survivor. And the male half to my genetics? I don't think therapy would help that man even if he went. My father never bothered to care about the child who lived with him until she was 9 before she was gone from his life forever after that.

Do My Bidding, Mosquito Army!
I LOVE My Forest. The emerald sky where I live is pierced with shades of blue beyond. Birds sing their lewd songs to each other during the spring and scream at their children during the summer creating a cacophony of sounds that we humans describe as beautiful. Fireflies light up our summer and autumn nights with flickering and fluttering eloquence, and an opossum has been adopted as a nocturnal snuggle/dinner buddy by the colony of rescue cats that I hold responsibility over and has even on occasion let me run my fingers gently over its back side (before saying: "Okay. That's enough, friend" by politely walking away). And the cicadas sing us to sleep every night. It's peaceful, it's quiet, no noisy human interference, and you can see the stars for miles. And come morning, (especially in the cooler months when the morning fog lifts off the ground in opalescent swirls of cloud low to the ground) we are greeted by little families of deer.

Big Pharma hates marijuana. It’s not a secret. They fund anti-marijuana legalization campaigns, they provide illegal monetary kickbacks to health professionals to prescribe unneeded medications to patients, and all in the same movement are sweeping in to try and flood the pharmaceutical market with expensive synthetic marijuana medicines.
