I was in a Toxic Relationship, with my Workplace
“You got that?” My ex yelled. His hands were balled into fists at his side. At six foot three, he towered over me. A normal person would have been afraid, but I looked up a video of George Lopez repeatedly saying, “I got this,” and showed it to him. I had grown used to this treatment, so much so that I didn’t blink when he ripped the phone from my hand and threw it across the room.

I Regret Going to College
I work full-time and still don’t make enough money to cover my bills. I make more than minimum wage and normally avoid buying things for myself. I haven’t bought new clothes for myself in over two years, and I don’t buy name brands. If I had a medical or other emergency I wouldn’t be able to afford it, and it would cost my job if I missed work. I don’t even own a car, so I wouldn’t be able to use DoorDash to earn extra income.

Are We Dating the Same Guy?
Dating is an endeavor that I’ve never enjoyed. It’s often stressful, and sometimes depressing. More often than not, dating is full of unnecessary drama. Maybe the drama is why I was drawn to join a “Are we dating the same guy?” group on Facebook, despite not being interested in venturing into the dating world myself.

No, I'm Not Flirting With You, I Just Want To Keep My Job
“Can you check me out, because I was checking you out?” a voice called. I glanced up to see a man who looked to be in his 80s or older, holding an overpriced golf shirt. I didn’t say a word, I simply scanned the shirt while the man tried to claim that he’d been joking. I just handed him his receipt and told him to have a nice day. I didn’t tell management, or even another coworker, because he’d already explained his behavior away as a ‘joke’. The manager would likely take his side, or even scold me for making the customer feel uncomfortable.
