Hi I'm Joe Patterson. I am a writer at heart who is a big geek for film, music, and literature, which have all inspired me to be a writer. I rap, write stories both short and long, and I'm also aspiring to be an author and a filmmaker.

Scream Fanatic
Let me paint a picture for you. So it’s 1997 and me and my big sister Rudy are hanging out over my dad’s house for the weekend. My pops shares a place with his best friend who is like my uncle and whenever we come over he lets us borrow his copy of the movie Scream to watch. This movie had just come out at the end of 96’ and was literally one of the biggest movies in the world at the time. It also had a sequel that was on the way at the end of 97’ and would level the playing field of horror and slasher at the time. The foundation of what would be my top favorite movie series ever was being laid.

Stretch: A birthday tribute to Brandon Lee
Ok so one Saturday a few years ago in like maybe 2024 I get a call from my adoptive mother asking me was I coming to this church event that was happening later in the day. Now originally I was gonna tell her no because I was tired from work the day before, but before I could inform her that I changed my mind, she starts telling me about this “friend” of hers who’s gonna be joining us at this event. Apparently they had started dating at the time and she had introduced him to all her other closest family members and now it was my turn.

Dawson’s Beek
It’s the late 90’s, 1998 to be exact. The writer of Scream has just created a young adult television drama series that will define a generation. That show was called Dawson’s Creek and it starred one of the most defining performers of our time, James Van Der Beek.

Blessed 33. Top Story - February 2026.
So I woke up on the morning of February 5, 2026 and guess what and you know what I realized? It’s my 33rd birthday. Do you know what that means? Yes, technically I’m getting old, but what I couldn’t have guessed was this would be one of the best days of my life.
