“I’ll Take You to The High Cliff!”. Content Warning.
As a seasoned mountain guide, I can tell a potential jumper relatively easily. There's something about them, a mixture of sadness, determination, and detachment in their movements and on their face, that singles them out. I've been taking people to hike and climb the mountains for over 30 years now and had a fair share of jumpers to deal with.

Ride into Paris
I am exhausted. We have just landed in Paris from our 11-hour flight from Sao Paolo. The girls were particularly fussy during the entire flight: the little one, one-year-old Olivia, couldn't stand the pressure on her ears and cried non-stop on take-off, landing and during turbulence, which was particularly bad this time. This was driving the passengers around us crazy, and a couple of times we got not only stern looks but also comments like "Can't you do anything to stop your baby from crying?" Like as a parent I already don't feel bad and am irritating my babies on purpose so that they annoy other passengers.

The Teflon Don
They call him the Teflon Don for two reasons. First, no matter how hard the law tries to go after him, all indictments slide off of him akin to a Teflon pan. Second, he is similar to the original Teflon Don - John Gotti of the Gambino crime family, who was just as brazen and media-savvy as Trump.

AI and Creatives
In my Media, Culture and Society class today I showed this video to students. I tried to hide the title so that they couldn't see it was fully generated by AI. Before showing the film, I asked the students to register their feelings - what kind of emotions the film evoked in them - and also observe anything they might think would be worthy of discussion.

Unexpected Companion. Top Story - August 2024.
Ever since I picked up the left-for-trash dresser and refinished it, I can’t sleep through the night. Dharrsheena suggested that my newly refurbished piece of furniture could be haunted. I doubted it because spirits usually haunt houses, not the decor. But then strange things started to happen.
