Alien: Earth Series Review
For more than four decades, the Alien series has stood at the top of sci-fi horror; the films have had many ups and downs but the beast at the centre has always frightened audiences. After many years in development, a prequel series has arrived; it creates a well-defined foundation.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Movie Review
Of all the iconic superheroes in comics, the Fantastic 4 have proven the most difficult to adapt. From the nineties all the way to 2015, three separate versions have tried and failed in varying ways to bring them to the big screen. With the rights returning to Marvel as of 2019, a reboot was on the cards; the team joins the wider cinematic universe with The Fantastic 4: First Steps.

Weapons Movie Review
After many years in the acting business, Zach Cregger has jumped into directing; his skills for the latter have been very potent. With the recent success of Barbarian, he continues to rise through the ranks of cinematic horror. Weapons is his latest effort, another strong showcase of creeping tension.

Superman Movie Review
For so long, Superman fans have been waiting with bated breath for an adaptation that reaches its full potential. When the DC Extended Universe fizzled out in the early 2020s, a soft reboot was on the cards. James Gunn was chosen to revitalise the most iconic superheroes, beginning with the Man of Steel. It finds a place in-between the original classics and the darker direction of the Snyderverse.

F1 Movie Review
Standing at the peak of elite racing, Formula 1 has captivated audiences for years; it has also reached the silver screen on many occasions with documentaries and sporting dramas. F1: The Movie is the most high-budget and high-profile effort to date with full backing from the event organisers. For the most part, it’s an audacious and proficient thrill-ride.

Jurassic World: Rebirth Movie Review
For more than three decades the Jurassic Park series has remained profitable in spite of diminishing critical returns. With Jurassic World, bloated action and references to the original swayed general audiences while slipping in quality. The seventh outing from Gareth Edwards tries to go back to basics, but it constantly stumbles along the way.

28 Years Later Movie Review
Back in 2002, Danny Boyle and Alex Garland revolutionised the zombie sub-genre with a new breed of horror. After a long wait, the franchise is back; arriving in timely fashion after the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a fine return, though it doesn’t quite match the fear factor of the original.

Ballerina Movie Review
Since 2014, the John Wick franchise has torn up the box office with some of the best fight choreography in the action genre. The Baba Yaga’s story concluded in 2023, but his stylised world is up for expansion with spin-offs. Ana De Armas takes the lead in Ballerina, a well-made film that sits in the shadow of the mainline titles.

Predator: Killer of Killers Movie Review
After many years of stagnation, the Predator returned to prominence with 2022’s Prey; thanks to inspired ideas and going back to basics, it successfully triggered a wider resurgence. Before a big screen follow-up in November, we’re getting a set of side-stories with Predator: Killer of Killers. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable effort that embraces the wider history of the series.

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning Movie Review
Mission Impossible has always led the way for blockbuster action on the silver screen; the escapades of Ethan Hunt have persistently delivered with too many memorable moments to count. After nearly thirty years, Tom Cruise’s premier franchise has reached something of an end point with The Final Reckoning. It may not be the best of the series, but the eighth entry is far from a lacklustre effort.

Andor Series Review (Season 2)
2016’s Rogue One was a production that impressed most movie-goers despite its troubled production. Tony Gilroy saw an opportunity to expand on it with a prequel series that dove deeper into the classic conflict of rebels and stormtroopers. The second season completes the story with an excellent flourish.

Thunderbolts Movie
Since the conclusion of the Infinity Saga in 2019, Marvel’s big screen-efforts have struggled to maintain the same quality. Many titles across phase four and five have fallen short and the interconnected focus is now on shaky ground. In the midst of this downturn, Thunderbolts is the anomaly; a rare release that lays out a new tonal roadmap for the franchise.
