More Songs That Make Me Feel More Alive
It's been six years since I posted my article Songs That Make Me Feel Alive Again. The songs in that list certainly still hold up and serve as a time capsule for what I was dealing with and how I was feeling at that moment in time. But the best thing about music is that people keep making it. There's so much new music as well as old music that's new to me. It continues it's pursuit of filling and fueling me and making me feel emotions I can't even give names to. So, to honor my original article's fifth birthday (which I actually think is in September, but disregard), here are more songs that make me feel more alive. In no particular order...

TI said it with his chest in a phone call with Kevin Hart. In relation to allegations that the “King of the South” had been a snitch, 50 Cent insinuated that TIP wore a wire. With passion and candor, the Atlanta rapper discloses in no uncertain terms that the New York scene at large had been going through the same kind of conditions for decades. He mentioned that New Yorkers travel to the South for the malls and clubs only to head back up North and discredit the inhabitants below the Mason-Dixon line.

HIP-HOP VS. ROCK Gene Simmons Says Hip Hop Doesn't Belong In The Rock Hall Of Fame Because "It's Not My Music. I Don't Come From The Ghetto"
Rock legend Gene Simmons of the band Kiss may seem salty. But his words resound with truth. Hip hop doesn’t belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame like “opera” or “the symphony” doesn’t he claims. And he’s right. One great point came up when he mentioned that Led Zeppelin should belong in the Hip Hop Hall of Fame. Especially since they lent their instrumental to now incarcerated Diddy for his song “Come with Me.”

Henry “Box” Brown’s escape
Mailed himself to freedom A Short Story: The Man in the Wooden Crate Henry Brown awoke before dawn in Richmond, the air thick with the sorrow that had settled over him since the day his wife Nancy and their children were sold away. Babalu Aye cover by Rikki La Rouge
what you are hearing in this article is my cover of the iconic Cuban song Babalu Aye. Like Willy Chirino says about himself, hijo de Babalu I believe in Babalu myself too. Babalu was introduced to American audiences on the famed classic and iconic 1950 sitcom starring Lucille Ball and Desi I love Lucy. Desi is underrated and a genius who deserves to be more celebrated than he was. He was truly and over looked icon. Everyone focused on Lucille Ball but they overlooked Desi . Also, that’s something I’ll get into another article.

Rikki La Rouge covers Thunder by Imagine Dragons
my version of thunder by Imagine Dragons is throwback to Latin music of the 1950s. It’s cha-cha mambo. I love how intense my version of thunder by . It’s Latin music with English language lyrics. It’s tropical music Ingles. It’s got drive and intensity. I wanted to be as if not a little bit more intense than the original version of thunder by the Imagine Dragons. once again when I was recording this, I was songs that were relevant around that time and this was one of the songs that I really paid attention to I thought it would’ve been cool to do a classic Latin version of thunder and so I went for it and I’m glad that I did.

Rikki La Rouge cover of Dead or Alive You spin me right round
have that song you spin me and I always liked it and so I decided to do mariachi version of . Now the music is a little louder than some of the vocals, but it really is a decently recorded track to say the least. everything I was going for as far as song goes really is there and it makes sense and it hits the mark and everything so why I decided to do an article and post it here too. This song is also in my X-rated cover playlist on YouTube. even though the song sounds like it does there really is something there and I’m not just saying that I’m the one that produced it performed it and everything else I mean, I know that I rushed it a little bit but still what I was going for is really still there in the demo itself so you can see that I had if you see if I had better recording equipment I would’ve been able to make it a hell of a lot better than what I did, but you learned to make do and stuff but every recording equipment I’ve ever used always produced really good stuff for me.
