Time Flies on Gossamer Wings
“Time in a Bottle” is a song that was written and recorded by the American singer and songwriter Jim Croce. It is featured on his 1972 album You Don’t Mess Around with Jim. In 1973 when Croce died in a plane crash the song was played frequently on the radio and became a very demanded single. It was Croce’s second and final number one hit in the US. “Time in a Bottle” was the third posthumous Billboard number one hit after “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding and “Me and Bobby McGee” by Janis Joplin.

The Crazy Train of Life:
I was born in 1984. Two of my favorite uncles introduced my parents, and both of them were really into the music scene in Oregon (yes, connected to things like the Grateful Dead and the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, for context). They were also very into wrestling. Often, both of these uncles, who were my favorites when I was a kid, would babysit me.
