Word of the Day: 魚のカマ

sakana no kama - fish collar ( a cut of fish that is good for grilling. The fat preserves the flavor of the meat and keeps it moist. )

I am looking forward to the 9th. I will get my money then and I could buy something more interesting to eat.

But I still have my project page on my desk. I only crossed off 1/7 of the things on there. These are the things I need to do to consider being more active outside and with people. I am just dragging my feet with it though.

  • Make sure I have towels, soap, etc.
  • Clean the tub/bathroom.
  • Stock the fridge appropriately.
  • Dye hair.
  • Shave armpits ( maybe legs and arms if I feel up to it )

Hmm... yea I mean this isn't hard to do but I just.. I guess it is because... well I think the people in my mind can tell that I haven't really done it. It is like, when you're high energy and actually get on top of your tasks, whoever you are, people start noticing you more and want to see what you got going on.

I am thinking about another student I had on Superprof. She was older and, felt like she knew more than me though she... either was refusing to use her Japanese or couldn't, which was weird. Because if you can't use a language, why would you have a feeling of superiority in that position? I mean I know she knows who my teacher was in Chemeketa, that was obvious.

So I started doing a bit, but it just kept going south from there when I realized she couldn't even pick up who I was mimicking so I just decided to keep going with the accent because at that point, it would've been too embarrassing for both of us for me to explain humor to someone who was completely dry. I mean, she doesn't know the culture, what can I say?

I mean, just to empathize with her for a second, I get similarly lost with Gen Z/Alpha slang in either language. I am like.. oh weird. Like I am still trying to get used to "egui"

Yochimaru sounds cute though, but I wouldn't know how it feels to use it or what kind of intention it is supposed to carry. The song " on the good ship lollypop " pops in my head. I remember during my era, we had Gekiokopunpunmaru. Which I guess is like a comedic/valley-girl esque way of saying.. Like " I am like so PO'd! "

If you're just going to Japan for sightseeing, probably you're not going to be too into the people, just going to be honest. You are literally just wanting to see the nature and shit. Which I guess isn't bad.. I mean I sometimes feel that way too, I just want to go hike somewhere or something. But I also want to go to the B restaurant that sells everything with cheap mentaiko on top of everything. Because that is my dream. LOL. But yea, she sort of wasted her money just to say, " HAH! I don't even want to talk to anyone properly, I just want to tell someone I am going to Japan and have them feel envy. "

Ok well good luck holding on to your man. He'll leave you for a Japanese or be as embarrassing as that one guy at the restaurant with the one server just barraging him with Japanese and he is just stupefied and the wife can only act like a bitch to defend her incompetent man because neither decided to learn Japanese.

You could've been the badass to come back at her with Japanese, but you chose the bitch path. Good for you, I guess?

Yes, I have more complex/grand dreams, but sometimes I just want to be in a restaurant, eating my mountains of mentaiko or whatever they're passing off as mentaiko. And enjoy.
