Coffee at home
Are you a coffee addict? Do you find yourself with a strong cup of Joe in your hand all day long? Think about this… How much money do you spend on the coffee you drink? I would say the average cup of flavored coffee you purchase in a coffee shop will run anywhere between $4 and $6 per cup.

Cheesecake emergencies
Oh, yes, they do happen from time to time. However, most cheesecake emergencies can be either fixed or, at best, patched. You pull your cheesecake out of the oven, and it looks amazing. You set it on top of the oven to cool down a bit before you place it in the fridge. You go make yourself a cup of coffee…since you worked so hard preparing this cheesecake, you sure do deserve one. After you finished your caffeine-filled beverage, you walk over to the oven to find your cake is now filled with cracks from corner to corner. What do you do?

Squirrel Girl
Blink and you'll miss the chance to taste some of nature's finest nuts. As much as I love them, so do our bushy-tailed foraging friends. American Hazelnut, or Corylus Americana, ripens in late August in New England. 'Cor' is the Latin word for heart. They grow in abundance, lining both sides of a walking trail near my house with their showy, heart-shaped leaves.

Death By Chili
I am a good cook. I really am. That said, near death experiences with my cooking are not outcomes I aspire to. At the time, my oldest daughter, Chloe, was about 16. She was an exceptionally beautiful girl, and I am not saying that because I am her mother. She was traffic-stopping beautiful. Tall, thin, long dark hair and dark eyes. Almost perfect features. And to be very honest, you do not necessarily want a daughter who is traffic-stopping beautiful, because you will run yourself ragged trying to keep them safe. Teenage girls do not have the best judgement, and beautiful teenage girls even less so.
