My Lady Tree
My Lady Tree By Kelly Lee When I was a boy, I remembered seeing the tree. It was the most beautiful tree I had ever seen. It stood there majestically with part of the trunk and roots growing on the large boulder that made up part of its base. Bright green leaves decorated the branches, which seemed to glow in the sunlight. The wood and bark were lovely shades of brown, mossy green with red. It grew just outside the castle gates near a small ravine that took water to the village surrounding the fiefdom and the farmland nearby.

The Rosebush
The Rosebush By Kelly Lee The rosebush had been there almost as long as the house in which David Moore’s grandmother had lived. He remembered the rosebush for most of his life by the simple memories of his grandmother taking care of the plant and treating it with kindness. He knew the bush was there and that it existed, but he had never actually paid attention to it.

The Woman Who Practiced Magic in a Field (A Fairy Tale)
Once upon a time... A young woman practiced magic in the cool of the night. She lived in a very small town, where no one else had heard of such a thing as magic, and never cared to. But, one night, the woman was discovered in a dried-up field with golden lights flickering off her fingertips like fireflies. The old farmer who spotted her bellowed through the darkness, accusing her of trying to set fire to the dry land.

The Underground Knight’s Confrontation
Quietly waiting was a warrior who wanted to show his true power for the good of the world. He was raised by loving parents who taught him honor and integrity. His father was a former knight who inspired his son to do big things in his lifetime. He taught his son how to wield a sword and shield and be precise with a bow and arrow. This training occurred throughout his entire childhood. Simultaneously to his training as a warrior, he learned to help provide food and water for his family. The warrior and his parents were respected by each and every person in their town. His father was well known for protecting the land against former enemies, while his mother was recognized for her generosity by giving to those who have less.

The Centurion and the Bear
Magnus was a strong and devoted soldier. His love for The Empire surpassed all things, including his life itself. He was a centurion, and had been offered higher positions but refused them all, choosing the mud, and the fight more than the horse, and the distance, and the wall of guards enjoyed by the Legatus.

Desolate City
There was a time, a time that came before perpetual darkness descended upon us. It has been mentioned before slipping from the tongues of the elders wishing to impart a grain of hope and truth. There was this time, long before we came to huddle in mass. Here we are now, somewhere at the edge of the old earth where the margins of the world have melted. Yes, there was a time, before the sun went to starlit mass gathering its golden rays for penance, no forgiveness in sight. There was a time before the earth shattered from the force of constant oppression when man turned the seas black and the air stagnant. When the greed of many stifled the will of the few. When the riots rose up so loud and mighty that it punctured a hole in the atmosphere. At last, the new age has dawned as a bleak and weary chronicle, a testament to uncharted history.

Afterlife Delight
Tony had grown old as a bachelor. He never married. He never had any kids. He just grew old. That's not to say his life was meaningless. He had his hobbies and his career. He also loved women and had several "friends with benefits." He just never could replace "the one who got away."

Getting Started With Tarot
Divination through reading the cards, also known as cartomancy, attracts those who love cryptic symbolism. Don’t think “cryptic” to mean “incredibly difficult to understand” in this case. Tarot cards are metaphorical in nature, but are usually simplistic and direct in design. Divination itself, or communing with the divine (or spirit work, and communication, if you prefer), can be ambiguous when starting out, but I think tarot is a great introduction to identifying personal and universal truths. Tarot is a great psychological tool for introspection. Whatever your reason is for picking up tarot, I hope this introduction will give you a general idea of what to expect while learning to read the cards, and provide suitable references to help you explore tarot further.

A Play's Story
Silence. The auditorium is empty, aside from the mask that lays askew in the aisle as if tossed in a hurried manner. The stage is set with falling snow and the girl in purple is left on the bench wondering what she did to cause the shadow man to leave. His absence pains her heart; not even real snow could numb this pain.

Fire Touch Fire Night
"Jupiter are we almost there?!" The cries of my little brother being lost in the howling wind as we ran through the dimly lit forest. My grip tightened around my little brother's small wrist pulling him. The rain had pelted our hair, the loose strand of hair stuck to my face as we raced through the forest. The clawing of the branches ripped and scratched at my wet skin and clothes. I didn't know where we were going, but all I know is that we must get as far away from them as possible. My legs began to turn into jelly, chest heavy with bricks as I kept pushing. Looking back to my little brother whose tripping over his little stubby feet. The forest was silent, the only thing we could hear was the harsh breathing of our breath.
