Ed and Joe Jr. are the same age (Ed is five months older) and they have been close friends ever since they met when Ed came to Laredo for instructor training for the first time in 1977. "The day I came to work here at headquarters in 1981," Ed recalled, "Joe told me that I wouldn't be treated like an employee, that they treat everybody like family. It has been a wonderful adventure and an honor to have been associated with them for all these years."
