Take One, Pass It On
"Holden House," the large brass sign falling off of a steel post sat at the intersection between Cross Road and Parliament Street, its winding driveway leading down to what you could once imagine was a stately manor, was left by the hands of time to rot away to nothing more than a few solid boards and broken windows. If it weren't for the general interest it piqued with its numerous stories, the town would have condemned it long ago. It was nothing to say that among the few tourist shops and convenience stores, the town of Leader Valley didn't have much going for it, if anything at all. The people were nice—quiet, one would assume; mostly kept to themselves but still managed to be in on everyone's business. "The know" was something few people were out of, like any small town. That was what kept the legends of the Holden House alive.

The Skull Man: Part 5
HAZEL Did they know she was starting to enjoy hearing them suffer? She'd been the caged animal for so long and now that he had finally let her out of that cramped metal box, the scorching rage she felt inside was begging her to kill whatever she laid eyes on.

Lampago Part II
On the far side of that squalid living room, Rudy fussed over a fourth-hand electric stove while Duncan sat half-awake at a card table, their father's card table, waiting with a paper plate. Rudy looked passably human now that he shaved off his beard and muttonchops, put on his green Wigman's Grocery shirt and apron, hid his paw-hands inside cheap gloves, hid his tail inside his black slacks, and squeezed his hindpaws into shoes. Duncan, meanwhile, looked pert in his school uniform of a blue vest over a black polo shit and khaki slacks.

A Dog's Dream
Advancing towards me with that evil grin, a look of death in his eye; “Scott!!” My owner screams in my defense, but her words don’t do anything. He grabs me, lifting me off the ground. I can’t fight it. He walks over to the railing and hovers me over it. All I see looking down is the far away asphalt where I will die if he lets go.

Broken Home
The adventurer strode boldly along the grey and dusty path, weary from his latest escapade, although he did not show it. He was walking for ten minutes or more, when he came across a set of old stone steps. They were wide, with what clearly used to be a magnificent marble balustrade, but were now cracked and crumbling.

Medium
I hear the bell of my door ring with a following slam. No one called out to me, as they often do. Here in my home, I provide the service of fortune telling. Many clients thrive on my readings, as if they struggle to face the unknown. Always prepared, must know what comes forth toward them, leaving no sight unturned. None are as aggressive to my door as the slam. Often they lurk in slowly as if held in skeptics and paranoia. A questioning fear that what dwells within the confines of my home is monstrous and will pull them inward to a ghastly demise if disturbed. They speak softly to me, and call my name with hesitance. To whom would want to anger a medium?

The Haunted Children's Hospital (Chapter 4)
"The variable goes over here, while these two..." My math teacher droned on in a deep monotone voice. I was hardly paying attention anyway, staring out the classroom window. I couldn't get the shadowy figure I saw the day before out of my head. The school bell rang, snapping me out of my own thoughts. Gathering my things, I jotted down the homework assignment onto my hand and quickly left the classroom. I headed towards my next class, hoping to not bump into Miss Fake Blonde and her minions. I gritted my teeth at just the thought of seeing those girls again.

The Haunted Children's Hospital (Chapter 3)
Chapter 3 I jolted awake, for someone shook me. "Hey, kid. Is this your stop?" A gruff voice asked me. Looking out the window, I knew this wasn't my stop, but I shook my head yes anyway. The bus driver huffed. "Well, go ahead and get off." I grabbed my backpack and hurried off my school bus. As it left, I made a full 360 turn where I was standing.

The Haunted Children's Hospital (Chapter 2)
'Devon stared into the darkness of the hallway. One lone light shined, its glow a sickly yellow color. Mustering all the courage he had, Devon started down the hallway, which seemed longer than it looked. Laughter came from one of the rooms, but he was sure that the fear inside him was making him hear things. A loud—'

The Haunted Children's Hospital (Chapter 1)
"Anaiya! Dinner!" "Coming!" I closed my laptop and ran downstairs. Boxes were strewn here and there, their contents safely tucked in packing material. As I walked into the kitchen, cooking utensils were already put in their proper places. A sweet smell came from the dining room, making my mouth water. Following the smell, I saw a woman of medium stature with long and wavy blonde hair setting up the dining room table for three people. She wore a light orange shirt and blue jean capris.

The Best Pie In London
The woman seated at table 12 screamed. She leapt to her feet and dropped her cutlery onto her plate. The fork spattered dark gravy over the crisp table linen. The knife slid off and clattered on the floor. Her high-backed chair teetered for a moment on two legs then toppled backwards. It crashed against the striped floorboards. Every other diner fell silent and turned to look, but she continued screaming. Her husband, fork frozen halfway to his mouth, stared at her.
