It is with aversive opposition that I now recount my unusual experiences in the log concerning the submergence and subsequent destruction of the Underwater Marine Biological Observatory. The following events began as a result of the endeavor of the human race to explore the world’s oceans after the many advantages in pressure equalization and other innovations in technology which made the observatory a possibility.

A Guide for the Different Zombies
The world of literature and media are infected with the threat of zombies. In general, zombies have lost their humanity and are out for blood. If you get in contact with them either by saliva or by blood you will get infected and eventually lose your humanity and try to kill and devour your loved ones. However, you will come to see that there are two types of zombies. Both are similar in that they have lost their humanity and all they want to do is snack on a brain, but both are different in ways involving the infection and virus itself, the traits of the two types of zombies, and the ways to kill them. This discussion will compare and contrast the two types of zombies.

Nightmare
I've been here before. The oak floorboards that creak at random intervals, the yellow-ochre walls, and the off-white doors. The smell of rotting flesh and the site of coagulated blood spattering covering the hallway from top to bottom. A slight twinge of regret courses through my body as a low growl penetrates the stillness. I can feel the growl in my bones and my feet stop moving. At the end of the hallway, a red door looms slightly ajar. My senses telling me to turn and run the other way, to not take another step, yet I can't help but wonder what is on the other side of the door. Another growl sends every hair on my body standing at attention. A pool of fresh blood begins to ooze towards me from underneath the door as if to beckon me closer. The sound of meat tearing from bone reaches my alert ears. As I reach for the door, the smell punches me in the gut, doubling me over as I hurl what hasn't digested of my lunch all over the floor. I try to fight back the nausea and push the door open and that's when I see it.

Series: Riddled
The moon was high and hidden beneath black clouds. I stood at the foot of the long corridor dominated by tall, wet trees and broad lampposts, as if guards, placed ten feet exactly apart. I took a brave step forward and froze at the, only heard by me, rustle in the dark corner of bushes far to my right. Another step and the rustle was no longer a simple rustle but a violent hiss to my ears. This is not my territory. I shouldn’t be here. I have to leave, now. The doubt in my head spoke loud. A sudden burst of courage punched me in the gut making me feel sick at my sudden vulnerable state. It took over my legs and dragged me further ahead. The further I walked the further the end moved, so I began to run. No use. The faster I ran, the further it moved. I felt like a lovesick fool running towards my lover, without a second thought.

A Wolf's Cry
A wolf’s cry is what I hear at night. This is the first time I've ever heard it. It’s an unsettling sound to hear so late at night. What made it worse was the fact that I lived alone in my big house at the edge of the woods. My closest neighbor was about three miles away. I have no pets to guard me or tell me if something was wrong. I am completely alone. I did like being alone in my house, but at the moment I was scared to be alone.

Alien
I live in the shadows. No one sees me. I don’t need a name… yet I’ve apparently been given the name “Alien.” They don’t know me. They wouldn’t want to if they had ever laid eyes on me. I guess I’m pretty much their worst nightmare. I look similar to the humans, I like to think, besides my skin being a bit too tight. It extenuates the muscles in my body and my cheeks are as wrinkled as the elderly in their race. This bottom jaw of mine comes to a point up towards the few teeth at the top of my mouth. My eyes are cloudy, but I see fine. There're multiple horns bulging from the top of my head. A new one sprouts on what they would call my birthday every year. Our years go by differently though. One year where I’m from is three years here. I’m 24 years old.

Cage
I sat in front of the cage in a leather recliner staring through the bars as the girl began to open her eyes. She let out a soft groan and lifted her head to look around. Her eyelids were still drooping from being half asleep. She blinked a couple of times in the light before stretching her eyes wide open and looking directly at me. I just smiled and sat back in the chair. Where I sat was bathed in shadows so she wouldn’t be able to see me even if she squinted her hardest. At most, she would just see the silhouette of my body resting in the chair.

How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse
First and foremost, no one in their right mind knows how a zombie apocalypse will turn out, or if it even will happen. But there are a lot of people who literally are prepared for this sort of scenario. Me? No way! I love zombies, and hey I'd probably be right there in the middle holding a chainsaw. Ha, just kidding! I'd run for my life, even if they ended up being slow, just like The Walking Dead zombies. But, if they ended up being like the ones on Resident Evil, I think it's safe to say we would all be screwed. Right? No one wants to go up against those creatures! Well, unless of course you were Alice herself.

Lavender
I look over the side of the boat, looking for the scales that keep making that awful music. I have listened to this fish sing for what seems like hours now. Her voice is so shrill that it's almost like she's screaming right into my ear drum.

Survival Journal Entry Three
No journal entry yesterday because not much happened so it will just go in with today's. Our scavengers came back and gave a full debrief of what happened when they were attacked. It turns out that the San Bernardino crew has some serious fire power so if we are going to try and take them on, we are going to need to be very cautious and prepared. I'm thinking that we need to meet in an open area so that our snipers have a clear line of sight and flanking will be hard. Our marksmen are probably the only way that we can get out of the encounter alive. We sent Carl out to see if he can find out where their main base is.
