Revenge Is Sweet
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn’t my own. And I couldn’t have been more pleased. Peering from the cloudy depths of the rippled glass was Janice Holbrook, my nemesis, my archenemy, my bully. And she deserved it. No one could deny, she absolutely deserved it.

The Caretaker of Cavendish Manor
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn't my own. She had the same brown hair, same blackheads, same tired eyes looking back at me, but somehow I knew she was a fake. It was in the expression on her face, as if she was keeping a secret. I scoffed at her, spraying the antique mirror with some cleaning solution and wiping it with a cloth. The rest of the parlor’s furnishings were shrouded in dust covers. I thought it best to keep them covered and only use what was necessary.

The Barn Owl
It had been a long drive. I was starting to doubt we’d ever get there and I had to pee again. “Dad, how far are we?” I asked. I didn’t want to bother him again by asking to pull over to pee. But I had to pee. I peed a lot. Dad even took me to the doctor when I was seven because he was worried; the doctor said I was fine. That bodies were different. As I got older, dad started to worry some other genetic abnormalities would be passed down to me. I really wished dad could have remembered that bodies were different. Some bodies survive differently.

September 21st, 2137 Adam was hanging out in his pajamas, waiting for his girlfriend Sydney to show up. They would take a shower together, get dressed and head out to greet the day. She was usually here by now. "Where is she?" Adam started to ponder as he picked up his phone.

Skin Walk with Me
If walls could talk, they’d teach you a thousand words for shame. I have no memory of what came before me – this is perhaps our only overlap. Some entities are visitors and others hosts; the most fortunate are the ones who live as both. I am sought by eternal guests in every age and era.
