Putting the Extra into Acting
It's so hot and I'm stood here in five layers of vintage clothing sweating absolute buckets. Along with the musty, moth ridden smell that lingers within my armpits, I peel away the sleeves that stick to my wet skin. Yes! I thought, this feels so good. This 1940s aqua coloured cardigan is finally being relieved from its clammy occupier. The feeling however was short lived; as soon as I go to pull at the neatly sworn buttons a flurry of makeup artists swarm me, correcting my sliding cardigan back onto my shoulders. "Let’s just fix your wig my Love" "How are your feet holding up?" "What colour lipstick do you want?" I stand there grinning, holding my clammy hands awkwardly, trying not to hold too much eye contact with the lady waving a peach coloured lip gloss at me. I did admire her eye colour for a short few moments, before realising again where I was and how I was trying hold my head towards the circulating air around me, doing my best not to pass out. Oh no! I glance once more at her light green eyes before a wave of black dots invaded mine. It was like a swoop of a cape surging over my sight. I know what some of you are thinking... Pass out... that will be hilarious... Thankfully I don't, and this colourful lump stays on her feet for three glorious more seconds... then you guessed it, I hit the deck... Blackout.

Here's How My New Job in Hell Went This Weekend
I'm going to tell you a story about my weekend, and how one of my jobs managed to ruin it over the course of three days. I'm going to gloss over names; one is a popular chain restaurant, the other a noteworthy place in my town. Their names are unimportant; I want to tell you guys the horrors I faced without fear that on top of EVERYTHING I also end up fired.

Why I Decided to Become a Teacher
We are running out of teachers. Good, passionate, serious teachers. Either they’re simply growing older and caring less or the younger ones are giving up way too easily. Most people look at me funny or try to change my mind when I tell them I’m currently studying to become an English teacher; a high school educator, to boot. Time after time I hear: “Oh! Are you SURE you want to teach? I mean, in this day and age you’d be so disrespected and the kids are insane.” When as a matter of fact, those same reasons you wouldn’t be a part of the school system, are the reasons I will be.

How to Decide Whether to Change Jobs
In the past, finding and following a career path was easy. Once an individual selected their specific life track, they simply followed that singular choice through to the finish line. Unfortunately, today’s world is much more complicated, with the average individual making approximately four to seven career changes before settling into a more permanent position. Especially with the current emphasis on achieving a solid work-life balance, finding the perfect job is critical in achieving absolute happiness and life satisfaction. As a result, it feels like everyone is constantly changing jobs, making a lot of us wonder if it is time we do too.

5 Ways to Tell It's Time for a Career Change
It is sometimes difficult for us to see when we are ready for a change in our lives. If we just take a step back and assess the situation, we usually get a better perspective. I spent years of my life thinking I was happy and in a longterm career only to realize it was actually the reason for all the suffering I was feeling. From personal experience, I can say that it can sometimes be impossible to tell the difference between the need for a career change or just going through a phase of boredom.

Starting My Own Business at 19 (Pt. 1)
This whole journey started when I sat down for my first ever job interview. I was fresh out of cookery school. I had spent nine months of my life filling my brain with everything about being a chef; from hand making puff pastry to butchering a 'best-end-of-neck'.

In the Life of a Vet Tech in Training 👩🏼⚕️
Yes this is a personal story, but I want it to be more than that. I want it to show people no matter the obstacles you go through in life, if you work hard enough you can succeed in so many ways. You will hit speed bumps along the way, you may even want to quit, but if you put your mind to it, any goal will come with time, patience, strength, and confidence. So here is my dream career. Here are the bumps along the way I am ready to face them all head on.

Changing Careers. Top Story - August 2018.
I was never the type to have a five-year plan or clearly defined goals when it came to my career. I had one goal growing up which was to go to University, actively encouraged to do so by my parents although my decision was also influenced in part by the TV show A Different World. Silly but true. I even changed my choice of degree throughout the process as I started off wanting to study Journalism and then switched to Psychology and Criminology. But I was fortunate enough to be of the generation in which you could study something purely out of interest and not because it had to result in a job. I reasoned I would use those three years to explore the idea of being a probation officer or work in a completely different field (I ended up doing the latter).

My Experience in Amway
Today marks the one year anniversary of the day I finally quit the Amway business, so I thought it was the perfect time to write about my experience in Amway! This is actually a funny story which I don’t really talk too much about anymore, but at one point, it was all I thought and cared about. Building the Amway business was my life purpose. Or that’s what I thought anyway.
