The very nature of the global economic structures we have taken for granted over the last decade are in jeopardy, from the integrity of the European Union to the future of supply lines from China, a country that stands accused of lying to the world about the extent of the virus. Coronavirus has obliterated over 22 million jobs, which amounts to nearly all the jobs that were created since the end of the financial crisis 10 years ago. This economic crisis will have a domino effect and continue to impact one facet of society after another. Ultimately it will create a wall of worry for financial markets to climb. As time passes and we begin to understand the scope of this crisis, facts will eventually force action. There are plenty of opinions about the whos, whys, whens, and hows, but we all know one thing for certain: it will take a long time for the effects of a global economic shutdown to settle enough to create some semblance of a "new normal."

Quench - a family that found me
Summer was quickly approaching, and my options became endless. Should I stay in California and pursue opportunities here? What about moving back to Minnesota? Reconnecting with friends and family felt practical and comforting. In April 2019, I found myself at an existential crossroads. Having lived in the state for almost two years, I’d recently quit my part-time job as a café server and relocated to Orange County, as my prospective career in modeling was starting to bloom. After signing with an agency that winter, I was determined to inch my way toward the alluring utopia of Los Angeles, where my dreams would come to fruition...right? Flexibility, being “on-call” and mobility are all aspects of a successful worker in entertainment industry, and I knew I needed to find a job that provided all of it. Being in a novel environment and lacking connections in this new realm on top of my longing for the nostalgia of home left me unsure, overwhelmed and quite honestly, terrified.
