Let Them Be Uncomfortable
The less you worry about what other people think of you the better everything will become. Of course, it is natural to be self-conscious during those awkward teen years, but the less you care about what others think about you the happier you will be. Wear what you want, give your opinion, and express yourself however you want! Just be yourself! If everyone on Earth was the same, the world would be a very boring place. It is your job to bring something unique to the world. Just be whatever you want to be. Be smart, be confident, be kind, be sensitive, be a badass. Just be unforgivably yourself because you are an amazing person, and there will never be anyone else who is like you.

Making Ends Meet
I think we all long for the days in our childhood when we had no concept of what money was. We didn't understand how much food costs. We didn't understand how much hydro and heating and water cost. We didn't know that gas prices would one day be the bane of our existence.

Clarity
I'm grown now... All my life I believed being an adult was independence and the choice to be free. Being able to make your own decisions and living up to them because you made them whether they were good or bad. Now this is all true, but as I grow, I'm learning that I'm consistently growing and with that there's so much more to this thing we call the "adult life."

Are You Addressing it?
This year will be a year of growth. It will be a year of opportunity. It will be a year of constant Self-Care! I pray that you overcome whatever you are going through right now. I pray that you find the time to address your health and care for yourself this year. I pray you learn not to let others get to you. I also pray you learn to get enough rest and eat well. I pray that you do these things because self-care is important and it is how you will get through this year and through LIFE!

Chosen One
The Universe Will Choose You. Life itself has a way of showing you the dark and the light. Experiencing being the chosen one allows you to do two things 1. find your purpose and 2. reap the benefits. It might not sound like much, but this past year the universe has shown me what it is the be chosen, what it is to have a purpose. See, in life, from the moment we are brought into existence our parents are already setting the vision for us, until of course we create a vision of our own of what or who we want to be.

How I Managed to Quit Overthinking
Overthinking honestly ruins you. It creates problems that didn't even exist in the first place. Over thinkers can make any situation worse, no matter how exciting/depressing it was before. It makes you more stressed, unpleasant, and also makes you question everything that happens in your life. It takes you away from the present moment and makes you worry about the future.

For the Universe
It’s scary sometimes, especially in the moments that you think, “hold on, why again?” Because it’s almost as if everything that you have ever worked for, ever dreamed of, it’s all momentarily covered in a cloud of doubt, a fog made from fear and panic and whatever else. It’s never quite an easy answer to the question: “But why are we here? What are we doing? What is the point of all this?”

The Video Game Method
In my article Best Books of 2017 (According to Me), I mentioned that I had a New Year’s resolution from a few years ago to read more books. I also mentioned that it was a challenge. I couldn’t find motivation in the traditional sense. So, I had to take a step back and figure out what the problem was. I enjoyed reading books, enjoyed the process of reading books, but found I did not enjoy picking up a new book once the first was done. In fact, I found that I would much rather spend my free time playing video games or watching movies. Mindless fun, flashing lights, bright colors and loud noises took over. There were achievements to unlock, online games to play, underage children to argue with over the interweb. How could a boring ole book contend with that? But that got me thinking: How do I overcome that? Well, instead of rejecting the tawdry appeal of the video game, why not embrace it?

'Chillin’, You?'
“Hey” “What’s up?” “Wyd?” *Insert emoji here* The basic conversation starters nowadays. As I get older, the probability of responding to any texts or messages consisting of those simple words is becoming slim to none. Where’s the depth? Now, I get that, depending on the person, those starters are usually and often effective. But what about what comes after? The basic “not much, wyd?” or “chillin', you?” The world these days is so warped with technology, but why? What’s so intriguing about an empty or dead-end conversation?
