The Big Five
After a long journey, we finally made it, my wife's bucket list, South Africa. Alone the trip, all I can think about was what I would see, do, and eat. So excited to yet again visit another place, learn about the culture, and see new things. Of course, on the list was to experience the wildlife of the big five.

The wilds of suburbia
The wilds of suburbia in North Queensland, it never ceases to give me endless moments of beauty with the natural wonders that present themselves. This particular day as my husband and I walked the 10,000+ steps around our riverways riverbank precinct we were met with some friendly, comical and beautiful characters of the natural world some I couldn't capture like the bees and butterflies as they flitted on their journey to nowhere in particular but to fast for me to keep up.

Take A Pic
Oftentimes as writers/creatives, we have a tendency to push ourselves to creative and mental burnout. No matter how much rest we seem to get sometimes the fatigue continues to lurk around. Causing that familiar sluggish feeling that we have a hard time shaking but eventually do. Eliminating the word can't from your vocabulary as a human can work magical wonders for you. It's not that you don't have the ability to push through or finish whatever it is you are working on, it's that hump of a feeling that slows you down once you realize you are getting closer to a goal or finishing a project.

The Happiest Marsupial alive?
This particular Quokka shot is my favourite purely because it's a mother proudly showing off her baby, which is safely tucked in her pouch. What more can be said about how special that is? She came hopping straight up, bold as can be as soon as I kneeled down near her. She sat up and smiled, eyes glittering with happiness! With a greeting like that, how could anyone have a bad day? Not only did she pose for a few photos, with a nice quiet baby behaving in her pouch (she must be a super mother!), but even obligingly looked up at the camera for a quick social media selfie with me as well.

The Time I Danced With the Black Swan
It was 2013. I was alone in Ottawa, Canada for Thanksgiving as I was not able to travel home due to work. That morning, I awoke feeling alone and restless despite the sun's rays stroking my face; staying inside my cold apartment was not an option.
