"Suck on that!" you fiercely shout!

I raise the hammer, knock you out.

Limply, you fall to the floor.

Enter silence. Hurt no more.

Numbness follows panicked shock:

Contemplate the stark cell block...

End in sight. Restless night. Time for flight?

Acrostic

Ouch!! Well if that doesn't buy you some silence then I don't know what will!! Love the story you were able to sneak into this one Rachel!! Very clever!

How dark! Definitely took the prompt to a new level. Great use of rhyme and the C line in was a brilliant touch

  • Oooo, someone was silenced. Permanently. Hehehehehehe. I loved it

  • Very different take on the challenge… starting with yelling! I really like: “ Enter silence. Hurt no more. Numbness follows panicked shock:”

This is so barren of any comfort.

This is such a unique take on the prompt and brings back thoughts of my time spent in an abusive relationship years ago. There were several times I contemplated shutting him up for good!

A grim and effective take on the prompt! Bravo, Rachel!

Oh, but that was hauntingly different and profound! Well done.

There’s some serious loudness to this one—loved it!

That's one way to shut them up!

Agree with Grz. Upped your game since the shut up acrostic to shutting them up for good? Is everything OK?

Rachel, This was the noisiest silence poem I’ve read yet! 😅 Where are my ear plugs when I need them. I couldn’t help but think this was also a mini MINI micro! (An MMM) lol. But in verse. Ok going now. 😁

So many different scenarios ran through my head trying to picture the relationship: a bully/abusive partner and the victim contemplating standing up for themselves? Powerful acrostic, Rachel!

Oh, another curious and unique take on the challenge, chum. Love the rhymes in this one!
