Domestic Bliss
Awareness and discipline made it possible
Me and kids?
It seemed impossible.
Chronic hypothyroidism,
a messed-up health,
after cockroach allergy,
immigrant life,
no support system—
But then how did I get
two healthy cherubs?
It all started with
awareness and discipline.
And I made both words
my life philosophy.
I stuck to them
even through temptation showed,
even if fingers pointed,
even if I had to
quit lures of money.
All the efforts paid back—
and that is my reality now.
Two kids,
embracing each other,
watching the sunset
in the backyard.
Domestic bliss materialized
because I took action,
with robust dedication.
