you’re struggling to carry what i left behind

searching for clues, still digging through the past

each memory lights hidden caves in your mind

though perfect vision, you wonder how so blind

certain this love between us was meant to last

you’re struggling to carry what i left behind

every touch was tender, gentle, every word kind

you don’t want to move forward, but time moves fast

each memory lights hidden caves in your mind

my shadow lingers everywhere — sun will not find

so only darkness on your world is cast

you’re struggling to carry what i left behind

inside your head, my image is firmly enshrined

my destruction stretches wide, my reach is vast

each memory lights hidden caves in your mind

slowly you unravel, hoping we’ll be untwined

within your soul, large tumors have amassed

you’re struggling to carry what i left behind

each memory lights hidden caves in your mind
